SSFC Contest
Sooke Slow Food Cycle Fashion Contest
This is the fashion event of the fall season so dust of your tiaras and your gum boots because we’re going to have some fun. What does fashion have to do with cycling you might ask? Ever notice that most bodies on bikes are spandex clad and buff? Somehow this wonderful mode of transportation moved into the realm of the athlete. Its not that athletes and bikes don’t belong together, not at all. Its that bikes go with all shapes and sizes and are multi-purpose. So give up worries of your coif and dress for the occasion. Whether you’re heading to the opera or the mud-pile, your bicycle can take you there in style. Oh, and if your body does become buff from all of the riding you’re doing that’s OK. It seems to be a side-effect…
The fashionable style is to be seen. Our motto is ‘To be Seen is to Be Safe’. So, as long as your fashion of self expression catches our eye, and your helmet is on, you’re in the contest. We’re not cyclists, we’re people riding bicycles.
The winners (yes there will be more than one!…. such as most colourful, classiest, funniest, sexiest, most visible and most creative), will be richly rewarded during the closing ceremonies. Stay tuned as we lined up some locally made, served and prepared with love goodies!
Sooke Slow Food Cycling Innovative Bicycle Rack Contest
We love Sooke and its well deserved reputation as the budding cycling destination on Vancouver Island. And we’re crazy about making this town beautiful …that brings up Sooke’s other rather well deserved reputation, a population bent on transforming the ugly duckling of a downtown in the most beautiful place. So if you are a local business in the Sooke Region your eligible for the grand prize. Build the bike rack that is deemed the most artistic and functional and you will be publicly awarded the grandest of grand prizes.
Contact info@sookeslowfoodcycle.com for more information on bike rack specifications.
By the way, for those of you that don’t know the downtown of Sooke, even its trans-formative stage it has some of the greatest little shops going.
